Oh the feels.

yorielitanarpati:

After watching the flashback scene where Sokka looks at Toph with concern while she’s being bloodbent by Yakone, my Tokka feels just exploded okay?? I’ve always liked their brother sister relationship.
So this is my headcanon, after Yakone escaped and Aang went after him, everyone else started to wake up. The first thing Sokka did, was ran to Toph to check if she’s okay. :D

im calling bull on this. also one thing that gets me about Korra…. so its been what 70-80 years since the whole…

Bending probably helped that advancement along A LOT faster than what our world did. Which might be one of the reasons why anti-benders are so disgruntled with benders.

if such is the case, which considering yes at the time i don’t think animators knew they were getting another series (korra) would the flashbacks to Angs time before the 100 year hibernation have been more primitive? less was known back then yet it seems like nothing had changed in the 100 years.

(keep in mind this is a theory)

I think why there isn’t that much difference between the 100 years past and present in ATLA is that, due to the war going on, there was just much too much fear to properly allow for proper advancements. It was all either done IN the Fire Nation or in secret or, in the case of that kid in the wheelchair’s dad, he was being paid to do so, just to keep his family safe. People were too worried about surviving and staying low so that they wouldn’t gain the Fire Nation’s attention.

It’s similar to something my bff told me when she was studying the Middle Ages. There was a mini Ice Age during the time and the reason so much of that 200 year or so period was stagnate was because people were just trying to keep themselves and their families alive. They were hit by the plague and were freezing. They didn’t have time to worry about doing new advancements. The Renaissance came not long after, at the end of the mini Ice Age and, of course, we saw advancements of technology and literature and science and such. No one was worrying about starving or freezing or being sick to death, not as much anyway.

So, I see the four nations in a similar rut due to the war expanding so far. People were just trying to be small, out of the way, unnoticeable to the Fire nation so that they could try and survive.

#this ep is full of pleasant surprises!!!!

I am so glad I wasn’t the only one who felt this scene was vaguely incestuous.
