Crossover time!

Kinda inspired by this post.

So. I decided to watch The Kids are Alright cause I had heard that it was pretty good.

It’s got some moments but….damn. When I wanna FEEL for the couple in the film, especially being a lesbian couple…..I feel the story and the director failed when all i do is feel for Mark Ruffalo’s character, especially at the end.

Sure, they ALL made mistakes, but he was trying to be a good friend/dad-ish figure, for the time he had. And then the family’s issues come in and turned his life upside down, not the other way around.

I had other issues with it, like Nic. She was just…rubbing me the wrong way all the way through.

And then topics that are brought up and the dropped before they got talked out or explored any further. Especially about sexuality.

So…it’s not a complete failure on some fronts and others….it failed. Bad.

And…I REALLY hate to say this, but the two male actors were probably the best, alongwith the girl who played Joni, the oldest of the two kids.

Annette Bening and Julianne Moore…I really didn’t like them in this. Which sucks cause I like them both.

Ok…..way to make assumptions there, teach.

Oh god. A Star Trek nerd. I’d have LOVED to have heard that full speech. XD
